MTN Ghana crosses 50% market share – CEO
Mr Ebenezer Twum Asante, Chief Executive Officer, MTN Ghana, says the company now holds more than 50 per cent market share due to the massive investment, introduction of new services and network expansion.
He said in 2016, the company would make a total investment of $96 million to enhance its operation.
This includes $62 million in network expansion, $16 million in IT services and $18 million in Long Term Evolution.
Mr Asante was speaking during an engagement with members of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) to share information on MTN’s Business operations in Accra.
He said the company is digitising and expanding customer engaging channels to better respond to the pressing needs of customers and their partners.
“We are also enhancing our network infrastructure to improve performance to serve our customers effectively,” he added.
The CEO said according to the International Telecommunications Union, information Communication Technology was absolutely crucial for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Mr Asante said developmental impact of broadband enhances productivity and generates employment for the country.
Mrs Elaine Sam Kwami, President of IPR commended management of MTN Ghana for their support and commitment to the institute’s programmes and activities.
