CLOGSAG kicks against forced E-zwich registration
The Greater Accra Regional Branch of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has called on its members in the Civil and Local Government Services to boycott the E-zwich Registration Programme.
This follows an attempt by the Ministry of FInance to compel civil servants to use the interbank payment system for receiving their salaries.
A statement signed by Mr Samuel Nii Clottey Collison, Regional Secretary of the Greater Accra Branch of CLOGSAG, said no worker would be denied his or her salary from end of May and should any worker be denied his or her salary, the Association would not hesitate to take legitimate action.
The statement said the Association would implore its employers and its agents to use the recognised channel of communication within the Public Services.
It said the Finance Minister should desist from giving such directives through publications in the media.
“Government should not off load the inefficiencies of the E-zwich programme on Public Sector Workers, we would no longer allow ourselves to be used for experiments”, it said.
“When would these ad hoc measures in the name of chasing ghosts that are immediately resurrected by the Finance Ministry end? The Minister of Finance should give us a cost benefit of his ghost name chasing adventures’’
“We do not want E-zwich in any form, we want peace and nothing more,” the statement said.
