NDC Branch Chairman allegedly commits suicide
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Branch Chairman for Bawdie in the Wassa Amenfi East Constituency of the Western Region, Albert Adjei, has allegedly committed suicide.
Mr Adjei, who was about 60 years, was a businessman.
The District Police Commander of Prestea, Superintendent Timothy Dassah, who confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency, last week, said the deceased resided at Bawdie with his wife and children.
He said on Wednesday, May 18, Mr Adjei was preparing to go to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for his routine medical check-up and asked his wife to prepare food for him.
However, after the meal when his wife went to the bedroom to inform him that his meal was ready, she did not find him there.
The Police Commander said Mr Adjei’s wife later searched the house and discovered the husband’s body elsewhere with a bullet wound in the chest while lying in a pool of blood with a single-barreled gun beside him.
The body has since been deposited at the Prestea Government Hospital’s morgue, pending autopsy while Police investigations continue.
