Okere Constituency reacts to allegations against Dan Botwe
The Okere Constituency Secretariat, of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has denied allegations that Mr Dan Botwe, Member of Parliament for Okere, had ordered people to deface posters of his political opponents.
In a statement signed by the Constituency Secretary, Nana Addo Kenneth and copied to the GNA, it noted that Mr Botwe, who is an astute politician, understands the principles of democracy and would under no circumstance seek to denigrate his opponents.
The statement said: “Mr Dan Botwe’s pedigree in politics and his own disciplined lifestyle would not allow him to stoop so low to make derogatory remarks about his opponents let alone order for the defacing of their posters.”
According to the statement, the National Democratic Congress parliamentary candidate for Okere, Nana Kakra Offei, alleged that Mr Botwe, had asked that his posters in some parts of the constituency be defaced and some persons have been arrested in the process.
It indicated that the allegation was absolute false, never true and nobody has been arrested for such acts.
The statement asked all discerning persons to treat the allegation with all the contempt it deserves and called on members of the party to rally behind the NPP to ensure overwhelming victory in the November 7 elections.
