Kobedi CHPS Compound receives GH¢70,000 support
The Kobedi Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound has been presented with two Yamaha motorbikes and a pair of mechanized boreholes in support of its efficient operation.
They cost GH¢70,000.00 and were a donation from MAP International, a global health and relief NGO.
Speaking at a ceremony to hand these over, Mrs. Eva Aryeh, the Sunyani West District Director of Health Services, called for increased public support to bring quality health care to the people.
She said the government alone should not be expected to provide all the needed logistics and equipment to raise the quality of care.
She hailed MAP International for the quick response to the request made to it on behalf of the CHS Compound by the directorate.
The motorbikes, she noted, would aid the health personnel posted to the facility to undertake outreach programmes in the surrounding communities.
Mrs. Aryeh said the mechanized boreholes would also assure the people of safe drinking water, prevent diarrhea and other water borne diseases.
Pastor Josue Tchimou, Country Director of MAP International, said the NGO had built strong partnership with the Ghana Health Service (GHS) – providing support in the areas of maternal and child health services and the fight against malaria.
He pledged to continue to be associated with efforts at providing good health and give hope to people in deprived communities.
