Akufo-Addo pledges integrity and transparency
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged strong leadership to bring efficiency and transparency into the management of the nation’s resources if elected by voters in this year’s polls.
He said he would do everything to assure the nation of demonstrably accountable governance.
He gave the promise when he addressed a rally at Bechem in the Tano South District as part of his five-day tour of the Brong-Ahafo Region to woo voters ahead of the general election.
Nana Akufo-Addo said his government would work hard to end widespread economic suffering of Ghanaians and bring progress to them.
The NPP, he stated, had the talent and expertise to turn the troubled economy around – to create wealth and jobs.
The party did it under President John Agyekum Kufuor, when it inherited an economy in a similar state in year 2001, he added.
He criticized the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for messing up things and making life really tough for the people.
Nana Akufo-Addo told the crowd that the NPP would fulfil every election promise made, saying, these were not just for getting their votes.
He said they were convinced that the “one-district one-factory policy” was something that could be done to return the nation to the path of progress and prosperity.
He could not lie or deceive voters pointing out that, voters could not be disrespected.
He called for the people to trust him and his party with their votes to help make things better for everybody.
Madam Gifty Klenam, Member of Parliament (MP) for Lower West Akim, urged Ghanaians to refuse to be swayed by propaganda, falsehood, deception and tribal politics, employed by the NDC.
Nana Akufo-Addo, accompanied by some leading members of the party including Mr. Allan Kwadwo Kyeremateng, national and regional officers and MPs, had addressed similar rallies in Duayaw-Nkwanta, Susuanho, Abesim and Sunyani.
