US Embassy in Ghana issues 13,000 visas in 2015

The US Embassy in Ghana issued some 13,000 different categories of visas to Ghanaians in 2015, Robert P. Jackson, the Ambassador to Ghana, had told ghanabusinessnews.com in an exclusive interview

“Last year we issued about 13,000 visas. Over 9000 for tourists, businessmen and students, approximately 3,500 for people who want to immigrate to the US,” he said.

In 2015 US missions around the world have issued a total of 531,463 immigrant visas, including Diversity immigrants – that is winners of what is known as the Diversity Visa Lottery system.

They also issued some 10.8 million (10,891,745) non-immigrant visas in 2015.

On refusals, Mr. Jackson said he didn’t have the official clearance to speak to that, but indicated that the Embassy in Ghana issued more visas than it refused.
