UEFA pays €150m to clubs for Euro 2016
A record 659 clubs will receive compensation for releasing players for Euro 2016, European football body UEFA said Tuesday.
The pay-out is worth €150 million ($157 million) following an agreement reached with the European Club Association last year.
Clubs who released players for the tournament in France from June 10 to July 10 receive €100 million, with €50 million benefiting clubs whose players took part in the qualifying phase.
