Ghana marks Founder’s Day

Ghana would celebrate the 107 birthday of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of Ghana on Wednesday, September 21, for his contribution to the liberation and growth of the country.

The day, christened “Founder’s Day, was declared a public holiday by the late President John Evans Atta Mills.

It is a day that Ghanaians are expected to reflect and appreciate the sacrifices and achievements of the founding fathers of the country.

Every year the Day is marked with lectures and other programmes to highlight the achievements of Dr Nkrumah.
