Ghana Meteorological Agency embarks on strike action
The Divisional Union Executives of Public Service Workers Union (PSWU) and Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) on Tuesday embarked on strike over failure of government to resolve their grievances.
A statement issued jointly by Papa Nii Cleg, Divisional Union Chairman and Robert Cudjoe, Divisional Union Secretary said: “We have been pushed into this action because Government has failed to address our issues raised as far back at 2013.”
It said the major issue had to do with the amendment of GMET ACT 682 of 2004, on which stakeholders have had a number of deliberations but the Ministry of Communications had failed to fulfill its obligation
“Our decision is irrevocable until the said Act has been amended”, the release said.
