Coalition asks EC to consult Afari Gyan

The Coalition of Parents of Students in Private Institutions (COPOSIPI), has advised the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Madam Charlotte Osei to consult Dr Kwadwo Afari Gyan, the former EC Chairman.

This COPOSIPI say would enable her get the necessary  advice  to prevent any conflict in the 2016 polls.

“The former chairman of the EC to us is an institution of knowledge spanning over 20 solid years, ” the Coalition said in a statement signed by Dr Simon Gbene, General Secretary and copied the GNA at Tarkwa in the Western Region.

It said the Coalition could not afford any conflict because of elections adding:  “We cannot purport to be thirsty while standing inside potable water. Some of the issues bedeviling the EC are avoidable.”

The statement urged Dr Afari Gyan to extend his wise counsel to the current commissioners of the EC because Ghanaians would not forgive him if the country was plunged into conflict because of elections.
