Ghanaians urged to emulate patriotism of founding fathers
Nana Kobina Nketsia V, The Paramount Chief of the Essikado Traditional Area, has called on the leadership of the country to emulate the selflessness of the founding fathers in serving mother Ghana.
He added that putting Ghana first on the agenda of politicians was critical to ensure development and the growth of all segments of the society.
Nana Kobina Nketsia V was interacting with Mr Kweku Ofori Asiamah, the Minister for Transport at his palace in Essikado.
The Minister’s visit to the Western Region was to help him become acquainted with some departments and directorates under his ministry.
The paramount Chief said Ghana needed lots of industries to project its growth and that could only be achieved by leaders who abhorred wrong doings, personal aggrandizement and corruption.
Nana Kobina Nketsia V added that any changes the current government wants to make must be well thought through to ensure that it yields the ultimate benefits for the country.
The paramount Chief who described the minister for Transport as a younger brother advised him to give of his best in serving his motherland.
“I will only come to the ministry when you are not doing what is expected of you, you won’t see me there when all is well “, he added.
Nana Kobina Nketsia V again tasked him to work on completing the Railway projects to ease transportation problems as well as promote economic activities.
Mr. Kweku Ofori Asiamah, the Minister for Transport alluded to a long standing relationship between Him and the Paramount Chief which according to him had been instrumental in his career progression.
“I cannot come to the Region without coming to my elder brother to draw from his reservoir of knowledge, wisdom and intellect as I take up this mantle to serve my country”, the minister added.
The Transport Minister’s visit to the Western Region is his maiden assignment since assuming office.
