Nestle launches 60th anniversary
Nestle Ghana Limited, on Friday said the company is driven by the purpose of enhancing quality of life and contributing to a healthier future, guided by values of respect for others.
Mrs Freda Duplan, Managing Director of the company said building a strong brand started with building a sustainable business and creating shared valued for both business and the society.
Nestle Ghana Limited launched a year-long series of activities to commemorate its 60th anniversary and present it contribution to national development over the years to the public.
She said the anniversary was a reflection on its significant contribution to nutrition, health and wellness of individuals and families as well other relevant sectors such as education, youth and sports and agriculture to create shared value for the society.
She said over the years Nestle had committed to providing quality safe and nutrition through safe and nutritious products through food fortification, investment and research to provide science based renovation and innovation to improve product quality among others.
“At Nestle, we analysed our value chain and determine that the areas of focus of greatest potential for joint value optimisation with society are nutrition development, water, environmental sustainability and people development.
“The management and staff of Nestle Ghana Limited wish to express our appreciation to all individuals, families, customers, government and communities for being a part of this 60 years milestone,” she said.
Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kyeremanten who graced the occasion commended Nestle for its superior quality performance in Ghana through brand innovation, product diversity and efficient distribution.
He said government was committed to good corporate citizenship and an objective to create jobs adding: “Our primary goal is to initiate private sector growth and reduce the cost of doing business in Ghana.”
According to him Nestle has kept faith with Ghana and government will also keep faith with them and the private sector.
The Trade and industry Minister also commended Nestle for making use of raw materials in the country.
He noted that the company was the first client of the Ayensu Starch Factory when it commenced business.
Mr Mathias Feidmann, Head of Co-operation, Swiss Embassy also emphasised the significant contribution Nestle had played to the development and progress of Ghana.
