No child death recorded in three major hospitals in Sunyani Municipality
Mrs Ellena Akrasi, a Senior Midwife at the Brong-Ahafo Regional Hospital in Sunyani has commended pregnant women for attending regular antenatal clinics.
This, Mrs Akrasi said had helped reduced child mortality rate in the Region, and she expressed optimism that maternal mortality would also witness drastic reduction in the area this year.
The Senior Midwife made the commendation on Thursday, when the Ghana News Agency (GNA) visited the facility and two major ones in the Sunyani Municipality to ascertain the healthcare delivery in the first quarter of the year.
Other hospitals visited included the Sunyani Municipal Hospital and the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital.
The situation, was however not different at the two hospitals, as the GNA was told that no single child death had been recorded since the beginning of the year.
Mrs Akrasi observed that supervised deliveries at the regional hospital had also gone up and cautioned pregnant women against alcoholism and any unhealthy lifestyle that could endanger their lives and that of their unborn babies.
