First Lady saves girl’s life
A seven-year old girl, Harriet San-Koffie, on Tuesday called on the First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, to commend her for sponsoring her heart surgery that saved her life.
Harriet, together with her family members, opinion leaders, pastor and church elders from Bortiano Ngleshie Amanfrom in Accra, expressed her profound appreciation to the First Lady for fully paying the cost of her heart surgery last year.
Mrs Akufo-Addo met little Harriet, a hole in heart patient, when she visited Amanfrom and expressed the hope that she would grow into a responsible Ghanaian.
The First Lady, who was visibly joyous to see little Harriet full of life, expressed the hope that God would give her the strength to support more needy children in the country.
She asked Ghanaians to continue to pray for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to make him succeed and make Ghana better for all.
Mrs Mercy San-Koffie, Harriet’s mother, said had if it had not been for the help of the First Lady, little Harriet “would have died”.
She said before the First Lady came in to help, the family had sought help from “everywhere but to no avail” and expressed her gratitude for the intervention.
Mrs San-Koffie asked for God’s blessings upon the First Lady to enable her to continue to help the needy in the society.
