Samuel Oduro not Ashanti Regional Director of Gender

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has called on the public to disregard reports of Mr Samuel Oduro being appointed as the new Ashanti Regional Director of the Gender Ministry.

     

A statement signed by Pearl Adusu Gyasi, the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Thursday has indicated.

   

“The attention of the Ministry of Gender has been drawn to a calculated attempt by certain people on social media to bring the image and reputation of the Ministry and its Minister into disrepute.

     

“The Ministry therefore wishes to inform the public to disregard the above subject and treat it as falsehood.

   

“Moreover, the above-mentioned name is not the Personal Assistant of the Minister and has never been the coordinator for ‘Girls’ Girls’ for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during the 2016 campaign. 

     

“It should also be emphasised that, Mrs Augustina Gyamfi, the Acting Ashanti Regional Director of the Gender Department is still at post.

     

“The Ministry will like to caution the general public not to deal with imposters whose agenda is to tarnish the image of the Minister and her Ministry,” the statement said.
