Youth and Sports Minister charges Kwesi Appiah to be assertive
Mr Isaac Kwame Asiamah, Minister of Youth and Sports, has admonished new Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah to be very assertive and fair in his player selection, as he prepares to assume duty on May 1.
Mr. Asiamah made this known, when the Ghana Football Association (GFA), officially introduced the new stars coach to the Ministry.
Mr. Asiamah in a press briefing congratulated Kwesi Appiah for his appointment and cautioned him to be very firm in his player selection to help in succeed and make Ghanaians proud.
“Today the GFA president has brought coach Appiah to my office…we congratulate and welcome him.
“I employ coach Appiah to be very assertive in his player selection…help to improve our local league and we hope that you will assist the GFA with ideas needed for the game to be a success.
“Stay focus on your job and may your conviction be clear to make the Black Stars greater than you have come to meet it.
According to Mr. Asiamah the support and love for the Black Stars, had gone down and it behoves on coach Appiah to bring back the support for the team.
“Bring back the love and supports of Ghanaians. Ghanaians are not so much enthused when they hear about the national team and it is the coach’s duty to win back the support of the people”.
Mr. Asiamah further noted that from the public reactions and post from social media, there is a clear indication that there is an overwhelming support from Ghanaians for coach Appiah.
