Temporary accommodation for students in dilapidated structures

Mr. John Ntim Fordjour, Member of Parliament (MP) for  Assin South has expressed his determination to collaborate with the District Education Directorate to provide temporary accommodation for students in dilapidated structures while the government prepared to provide them with permanent structures.

The initiative was aimed at averting calamity that could befall primary and Junior High Schools (JHS) as the rains set-in due to the old and dilapidated nature of educational infrastructural facilities in the area.

The MP said this when he presented quantities of roofing sheets and street bulbs to Ahinkro D/A  “A “and “B” schools.

It was in response to a request by the school when the roofing of the school buildings were ripped-up by a rainstorm in January this year.

Mrs Sally Nally Coleman, District Director of Education received the items and  thanked the MP for the kind gesture adding that it would ease pressure on current facilities.

She praised the teachers of the schools for their dedication and commitment to work regardless of the challenges.

The Director asked the authorities of the schools to work harder to enhance academic work and to corporate bodies, philanthropists to support education in the district.
