Traditional leaders of Ga Mashie impose ban on noise-making
The Chiefs and people of Ga Mashie on Monday performed the rites to impose a ban on drumming and noise-making in Accra.
The month-long ban, which starts from May 8 to June 8, 2017 precedes the annual celebration of the Homowo festival of the Ga-Dangme indigenes in the Greater Accra Region.
Nii Okai Oseahene V, Ga Stool Father of Abola Piam in Accra, performed the rites and called on all residents to respect and adhere to the tradition of the Gas for peaceful co-existence.
He warned that anybody who flouts the rites would be dealt with accordingly.
He urged Ghanaians to observe the month-long ban and allow traditionalists to pray to their gods for progress.
Homowo literally means hooting at hunger.
