NPP polling station executives will not be ignored – Minister

Mr Thomas Agyei Baffoe, the Deputy Central Regional Minister, Agyei Baffoe, has stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would never neglect polling station executives who are the foundation of the Party.

He said the six months old government of Nana Ado Dankwa Akufo-Addo was doing everything possible to ensure that problems of unemployment and other socio-economic issues militating against those at the grassroots would be solved.

Mr Agyei-Baffoe, made this known when he addressed a delegate’s conference of the Gomoa Central Constituency at Gomoa Ekwamkrom to take stock of the past and adopt new strategies to win 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

He said the visionary government of Akufo- Addo with the strong economic management by Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, were making efforts to implement policies and programmes to alleviate the suffering of Ghanaians.

He called on government appointees, not to lord it over the grassroots members of the Party.

Mr Agyei-Baffoe said it would be bad faith for appointees to refuse to pick phone calls from members to address pertinent issues confronting them.

He implored the appointees to avail themselves to every member wanting to discuss issues affecting their welfare.

Mrs Naana Eyiah Quansah, Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, appealed to the members of the Party to exercise greater restraint to enable the government of Nana Akufo-Addo to address problems of unemployment, poverty, education and quality health.

She said about 30 junior high school leavers have been given apprenticeship training to learn trades that would enable them to become self-reliant.

She said as MP she was making efforts to ensure the total reduction of poverty and create an enabling environment for self-employment.

Mrs. Quanah offered 50 bags of rice and 30 bags of sugar to the Muslim community to assist them in the Ramadan.

She called for co-operation and understanding among the religious bodies to enhance peace and development.

Mr Benjamin Kobo Otoe, the District Chief Executive (DCE), warned that that anybody who would flout the rules and regulations of the NPP’s constitution would face the full rigorous of the law.

He said the Assembly delivered more than 7,000 bags of fertiliser from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to farmers in the District to boost the agricultural sector.

The DCE said that enough grounds had been prepared by the Assembly to be battle ready to meet the one district one factory policy and planting for food and jobs to create wealth for the people in the area.
