African Court to rule on 10 cases Thursday 

The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights has fixed Thursday, 28 September to rule in ten cases filed before it at Arusha, the United Republic of Tanzania.

The cases are: Application for Interpretation of Judgment – 001/2017 in Alex Thomas verses the United Republic of Tanzania; application for Interpretation of Judgment – 002/2017 in Mohamed Abubakari verses the United Republic of Tanzania; and Application for Interpretation of Judgment Application 003/2017-Action pour la protection des humains (APDH) verses Republic of Côte D’Ivoire.

Others are: Application 003/2015 Kennedy Owino – Onyachi verses the United Republic of Tanzania; Application 011/2015 – Christopher Jonas verses, The United Republic of Tanzania; Application 009/2016 Mamadou Diakite verses Republic of Mali; and Advisory Opinion –002/2014 Renontre Africaine pour la Defense des Droits de I’Homme (RADDHO).

The rest are: Advisory Opinion 002/2015-Centre for Human Rights and Coalition for African Lesbians; Advisory Opinion 001/2016 Centre for Human Rights, Federation of Women Lawyers’ Kenya and Others; and Advisory Opinion 002/2016 L’Association Africcaine de Defence des Droits de l’Homme (ASADHO).

The African Court is composed of eleven judges, nationals of Member States of the African Union elected in their individual capacity.
