Don’t rush into marriage, young girls advised

Dr Lawyer Adelaide Abui Keddey, has called on young women to develop themselves and acquire some skills before joining in matrimony.

She with this, they would not become a burden on their spouses adding “a woman should believe that she can contribute not just in the home but in building the nation”.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency during the celebration of International Women’s Day, Dr Keddy said it is significant to celebrate International Women’s Day, since women were partners in development.

She said women have done a lot over the years to enhance the development of the country and with women empowerment, they could have access to their own rights and freedom.

International Women’s Day is marked globally on March 8 to take a critical look at the barriers that impede the progress of women, with this year’s day being celebrated under theme: ‘Press For Progress’.

On the passage of the Affirmative Action Bill, she said it was long overdue and that its passage would help move the development of the nation further since more women would be involved in decision making and policy implementation.

Dr Keddey cautioned women to be more discerning and alert in their spiritual lives so as not to fall prey to false prophets.

Dr Adelaide Abui Keddey is a legal practitioner and the President of Adelaide Keddey Ministries in Takoradi. She was recently honoured with a Doctorate Degree In Theology by the Bible Institute of America Theological Seminary.

Dr Keddey  who is the host of a Counselling Roundtable programme , a popular radio programme in Takoradi,  is also the author of a number of books including;    ‘Understanding The Body Of Christ’, ‘Understanding The Purposes  and  Callings Of Women’  and the  ‘Position For Supernatural Breakthroughs-Where Divinity Meets Humanity’.
