StanChart Ghana Board Chairman Ishmael Yamson retires
Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Limited on Thursday announced the retirement of Mr Ishmael Evans Yamson as Board Chairman with effect from June 30, 2018.
Mr Yamson, who was appointed Board Chairman in 2005, has made immense contribution to the Bank over the past 13 years and has been very instrumental in strengthening the Bank‘s corporate governance.
He led the Bank through a period of growth, challenges and change as the banking sector went through reforms. His passion for excellence has contributed significantly to Standard Chartered’s strong brand and pedigree in the banking industry in Ghana.
Mrs Mansa Nettey, the Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Limited, thanked Mr Yamson for his unparalleled leadership and service to the Bank.
“I would like to thank Mr Yamson for his unparalleled leadership and service to the Bank. His deep knowledge of the industry, great client relationships and rich insights have had a transformative impact on the Bank,” she said.
“We wish him all the best in his future endeavours, I have no doubt that he will continue to work to drive the growth of the Ghanaian economy,” Mrs Nettey added.
Responding, Mr Yamson said it had been a great pleasure for him to lead Standard Chartered Bank together with colleague Directors and the Executive committee members, to bring it to its current state where l feel proud to leave.
“We have together created a bank with a robust corporate governance architecture, impeccable in its integrity, outstanding in its Performance, delivering positive memorable experience to our clients and a bank which has an internal human environment in which our employees are proud to work,” he said.
Mr Yamson’s replacement would be announced in due course.
