Passport Office to cease processing of manual application forms
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has asked the public to note that from Thursday February 28, 2019, the Passport Office and the Regional Passport Application Centres will cease to accept the old manual passport application forms.
According to a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency and signed by the Public Relations Department of the Ministry, the forms were the ones obtained from selected banks upon payment.
It explained that the Ministry’s initiative to migrate from the old manual passport application form to the new downloadable passport application form since November 2018, called for payment of the passport application processing fee to be done electronically.
The statement explained that the e-payment was either made via MTN Mobile Money, Vodafone Cash, MasterCard or Visa Card.
The downloadable passport application form can be accessed on the Ministry’s website (www.mfa.gov.gh) under the passport link and a link for the payment is also available on the same page.
The Ministry therefore advised the public and all prospective applicants to take note that, the Passport Application Centres would only process applications with evidence of electronic payment of the appropriate processing fee.
“The public is assured that the Ministry remains committed to its quest for effective passport service delivery to the Ghanaian Public,” the statement added.
