Takoradi Flour Mills workers force out their managing director from the company
The Managing Director of Takoradi Flour Mills, Mr was on Wednesday morning walked out of the company by the staff.
The action, according to the Union chairman, Mr Gideon Aryetey, was as a result of several issues affecting the growth of the company, ranging from poor working Conditions of service to constant abuse and disrespect of workers by the manager.
The workers entered the office of the Managing Director and asked him to leave because they could no longer work under his unfriendly administration.
The Union chairman said initially, Mr Loupiac refused to vacate his office as requested by the workers but was overpowered and peacefully sent out from the company’s premises at the Harbour and later handed over to the police at New Takoradi roundabout without molesting him even though he verbally abused the workers.
According to the chairman, Mr Loupiac threatened to sack all the workers when he returns.
Mr Aryetey, who later addressed the workers, advised them to be calm and go back to work without causing any confusion since they had achieved their aim of getting the Managing Director out.
As at the time GNA visited the premises calm had returned to the place and the workers were seen going about their work but the management was at a meeting.
Efforts to get management of the company, including the Public Relation Officer to confirm or deny the case proved futile.
