Ghanaians have lost confidence in you, resign now – Jawula tells Milovan

Lepowura Mohammed Nurudeen Jawula, Former Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) says majority of Ghanaians have lost confidence in the tactical prowess of Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac, urging him to resign or be sacked.

Alhaji Jawula made this assertion following the Black Stars disastrous outing at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) where they failed to win a match and exited at the group stage.

The Black Stars outing at this year’s AFCON is the worst in its football history having failed to win a match at continental football showpiece exiting with just a point from three matches.

According to Alhaji Jawula who was GFA Chairman from 1997-2001, Ghanaians do appreciate Milovan’s remarkable outing with the Black Stars back in 2010, but wants him to resign considering the dreadful outing of the Black Stars at the 2021 AFCON.

“The Blacks Stars needs a general overhaul and we have no choice than to find an exit route for the coach if he fails to resign.  We should have a new management team which would consist of old players who know the problems of the team and are aware of what Ghanaians want from the team.

“The nation has lost confidence in Milovan Rajevac, especially having been beaten by minnows, Comoros. I had hopes in him on his return to the Black Stars especially considering his remarkable performance in his first stint with the team but it is obvious he has lost it and not the Milo we used to know,” he told GNA Sports.

Alhaji Jawula also emphasized the need to build a new Black Stars, and with the support from Ghanaians they would attain greater heights in subsequent tournaments.
