In an address delivered at a short ceremony on Monday, at the North Campus of the University in Winneba, Nana Ofori Ansah I, Chairman of the Governing Council, said Professor Avoke’s reinstatement was in line with the order given by the Winneba High Court, Presided over by Justice Aboagye Tandoh, on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.
Professor Avoke’s work begins immediately, while Prof. Andy Birikorang, who acted as the VC, would revert to his position as the substantive Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University.
The court also directed that five other principal officers should be reinstated.
A handing over note signed by Nana Ansah urged the Pro-VC to assist the Management of the University by cooperating with the VC and supporting him for a smooth transition to achieve his vision.
Professor Avoke, on his part, gave the assurance that he would work with the Governing Council to have the five others who were dismissed reinstated.
