President fires MD of Ghana Airports Company
The President, Nana Akufo-Addo has ordered the dismissal of the Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), Mr Yaw Kwakwa.
In a letter dated January 31, 2022, and signed by the Minister of Transport, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah and copied to the Secretaries of the President the Vice President, and the Chief of Staff, the President ordered that the appointment of Mr Kwakwa as Managing Director of the GACL should be terminated. No reasons were assigned for the decision.
Mr Kwakwa, a graduate of the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management had worked with the company for more than 14 years, according to his LinkedIn profile and was Deputy Managing Director for 11 years from 2008 to 2019.
A little over three years ago, he was appointed the Managing Director.
