Arrest of Vormawor will not intimidate us – Convenors
Conveners of the Fix the Country, a political pressure group, on Monday said that the arrest of Oliver Mawuse Barker-Vormawor, will not intimidate them in their effort to push the government to address the challenges in the country.
Speaking to the media at the premises of the Ashaiman District Court, Mr. Raphel Vorlewors, a member of the group said, they have the zeal to push for the country as patriotic citizens.
“What they are trying to do is to put fear in us because if the big shark has been treated this way, how will the small salmons be treated? But what we are saying is that together we stand and they can never break us and we will make sure the country rises again,” he said.
He said just as the forefathers fought for the freedom of the country, they were ready to fight for that freedom and compel the government to speed up the socio-economic development of the country.
He called for equal enforcement of the law for all citizens of the country, adding that, in situations where the law was not “justly and fairly” applied, it breeds misunderstanding.
He said their fellow, “Oliver Mawuse Barker-Vormawor was not above the law, however, the law needed to be applied equally to every citizen without fear.
