Atwima Mponua rural bank records significant growth in deposit mobilization of GH¢226.3m
The Atwima Mponua Rural Bank PLC, has recorded significant increase in deposit mobilization of over GH¢226.3 million at the close of September 2024.
This represents 30.37 percent increase of the GH¢155.8 million the bank recorded in December 2023.
This improvement was because of stringent measures taken by the bank’s Board of Directors (BODs), to strengthen supervision and performance.
Madam Constance Phyllis Puttick, Chairperson of the Board, announced these at the 40th anniversary celebrations of the bank at Toase in the Ashanti Region.
The anniversary was on the theme: “Building on a Legacy and Forging a Path to Future Growth”.
Madam Puttick said the micro economic landscape of the country in 2022 and 2023, reflected a mix of significant challenges and global reforms.
Economic growth slowed down with Gross Domestic Product (GDP), increasing by 2.9 percent in 2023.
The country was battling with high inflation, debts and currency pressures.
She said, again, that the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme also dampened confidence in the financial sector.
Despite all those issues, the country’s economy had shown resilience and adaptability.
She said the bank was still the preferred one for micro, small and medium scale enterprises, and was committed to empowering the small businesses to stand on their feet and improve the economy.
Madam Puttick said the bank was also improving on its digitalisation agenda by enhancing its digital platforms to ensure quality service delivery.
Additionally, it was embarking on green banking practices to ensure transparency and accountability.
Plans were far advanced to roll out on-line banking platform.
She pledged the bank’s commitment to navigate the challenges ahead and ensure growth and transformation
The Chairperson urged management and staff to put in more efforts to achieve excellence.
She also appealed to stakeholders to continue purchasing additional shares, to sustain the bank’s capital, which stood at GH¢1,646 million as at the close of 2023 year, which was under review.
