Assembly builds GH¢104,000 office for Fire Service
The Atwima-Mponua District Assembly has completed a GH¢104,074.71 office for the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) at Nyinahin.
To help enhance the operation of personnel posted to the fire station, it has been provided with a fire tender by the government.
Mrs Theresa Adomako Tawiah, the District Chief Executive (DCE), was on hand to present the keys to the vehicle at a ceremony.
She hailed it as a big relief to people in the area, who until now relied on fire fighters from Kumasi, Nkawie and Bibiani to deal with emergencies.
The DCE advised personnel of the GNFS to take good care of the equipment and ensure prompt response to fire outbreaks and distress calls to save lives and property.
The District Fire Officer, Samuel Asare, cautioned the people to desist from phoney calls to the station.
He pledged their readiness to swiftly handle cases of fire and other emergencies adding that they would also undertake education programmes to help prevent fires in the area.
