Judicial service staff unhappy with non-payment of subvention by gov’t
The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) on Tuesday warned that it will advise itself if Government fails to release all arrears on subventions it owed within two weeks.
Mr Francis Brakwah, the National Chairman of the Interim Management Committee of JUSAG, said this at a press conference in Cape Coast saying it was important for Government to release all outstanding amounts from May to September 2012 without delay.
He was flanked by his Vice, Mr George Taylor, Mr Derick Annan, Secretary to the Association and the Central Regional Vice-Chairman, Mr. Adu Donkoh.
Mr Brakwah said JUSAG was surprise about what he termed “the feet-dragging” of Government to make available funds for administrative and other commitments of the Judicial Service, gradually bringing to a halt, its activities.
He said the JUSAG was aware of the strenuous efforts made by the Management of the Judicial Service which had yielded no results.
“I want to put on record our misgivings about Government’s attitude towards the Judicial Service, in relation to our subventions”, he declared and called on the Government to act without further delay.
