Ghanaians urged to exercise to stay healthy
Dr Archibald Letsa, Medical Director of the Miracle Life Hospital in Ho, has said it was important for one to exercise and change the bad eating habits to maintain a healthy life.
He said the level of awareness of dietary tips was high but people still disregarded them because of unhealthy eatig habits.
Dr Letsa said this when addressing members of the Ho branch of the Anyako-Konu Union at their meeting in Ho at the weekend.
He said unhealthy eating habits, lack of exercise and stress levels were important factors that could harm an individual’s health status if it went unchecked.
Dr Letsa said breakfast was a crucial meal that must not be intentionally avoided, warning that the habit of full meals late at night for supper only results in the buildup of fat in the body.
He said it was not advisable to slump into bed within three hours of taking supper.
Dr Letsa said whereas many people knew excessive intake of sugar was bad, they would still scoop a little more into their various preparations on the blind side of those holding them in check.
The Anyako-Konu Union encompasses citizens and spouses of citizens of the Keta area and assists members in times of bereavement, sickness, marriage and other social commitments.
