Two districts educated on Composite Budget

Mr. Joseph Antwi, Head of the Fiscal Decentralization Unit of the Ministry of Finance, has appealed to districts assemblies to deliver on their mandate especially when resources are allocated to them.

This, he said, would enable the assemblies to win donor confidence as well as that of the government to make available more resources for the growth of the assembles.

Mr. Antwi said this at a day’s workshop on Composite Budget organised by the Institute of Local Government Studies for the Mpohor and Wassa East District Assemblies.

He said Composite Budget was therefore a major reform towards ensuring that resources are available for the functions that have been assigned to the Assemblies and for improving efficiency and accountability.

Mr. Anthony Bassaw, the District Chief Executive of Mpohor East, said real governance was vested in assemblies and they must be properly resourced.
