Mion District Assembly confirms President’s nominee
The Mion District Assembly in the Northern Region has confirmed Mr Dan Makandan, the President’s nominee as the District Chief Executive with 100 per cent vote.
All the 28 Assembly Members who were present voted in his favour.
Mr John Mensah, Yendi Municipal Electoral Office who conducted the elections asked the Assembly to ensure that people obey the rules and regulations governing the general election to make the process peaceful.
Mr Makandan dedicated his electoral victory to President John Dramani Mahama for finding him trust worthy to be the maiden Mion District Chief Executive.
He pledged to work with stakeholders to push forward the better Ghana Agenda.
Mr Makadan asked the political parties to go about their electioneering peacefully, avoiding the use of intemperate language to ensure the success of the December 7, elections.
Mr San Nasamu Asabigi, Deputy Regional Minister advised the District Chief Executive to cooperate with the Assembly Members and make them happy throughout his tenure of office.
Dr Ahmed Yakubu, Member of Parliament for Mion said the Assembly was the first to confirm the President’s nominee.
He appealed to the people to retain the National Democratic Congress in power to continue with its development agenda in the District.
Mr Adam Alhassan, Presiding Member of the Assembly appealed to the people to facilitate the development of the area.
