Last Hajj flight delayed

The last flight to carry Ghanaian Hajj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia has been delayed due to problems associated with the issuance of visas.

The delay was the result of the new Hajj law introduced by the Saudi authorities to deport intended female pilgrims who are less than 45 years old at the entry point if they are not accompanied by a relative, spouse or guardian.

The last flight was scheduled to depart the shores of Ghana on Friday at 1400 hours, but due to the delay it was re-scheduled to 0700 hours on Saturday October 13.

A source close to the National Hajj Committee, told the Ghana News Agency at the Hajj Village in Accra that all problems regarding to the issuance of visas have been resolved.
