Biochemist named MD of Cocoa Processing Company
A biochemist, Mr Charles Debrah Asante, has been appointed the substantive Managing Director of the Cocoa Processing Company (CPC), according to a statement issued by the Ghana Stock Exchange December 4, 2012.
Mr. Asante was until the confirmation of his appointment the Acting Managing Director of CPC.
He replaces Mr. Richard Amarh Tetteh who retired after attaining the compulsory retiring age.
According to the statement, Mr. Asante has worked with CPC for 31 years. He joined the company as a Chemist in November 1981.
Mr Asante who holds an M.Sc in Food Science and Microbiology; and a B.Sc (Hons) in Biochemistry from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has held various positions at CPC.
He was once a Deputy Managing Director (Operations), General Manager (Confectionery), Production Manager (Confectionery) and Quality Assurance Manager.
