SDA elects new leaders for South Ghana
The South Ghana Conference (SGC) of the Seventh Day Adventist Church has held its first quadrennial session which saw the election of a new leadership for a three year term.
The leaders elected to lead the conference for the term include Pastor Dr Chris Annan-Nunoo, President, Pastor Dr Oheneba Odei Agyei, Executive Secretary and Elder Charles Anoo Quaye, Treasurer.
The session also elected directors, trustees, and executive members to man the affairs of the conference.
The event was on the theme: “Revival and His word”.
Pastor Anthony Kessie, the outgoing President of the Conference, speaking during the six-day session in Accra on Saturday, thanked God for seeing the country through yet another crucial election to elect new leadership.
The session was used to interact with members on what had been acheived and also to forge ahead for the growth and development of the church
He called on Ghanaians to continue to pray for the peace the country was currently enjoying and charged the new leadership to build their foundation firmly on the Name of God, since he is the rock of Ages.
“For the leaders to be able to achieve the aim of the conference, they need to depend on the Name of God,” he said.
Pastor Dr Chris Annan-Nunoo, the new President elect for the conference, thanked the participants for the confidence reposed in him to lead the conference for another 3 years.
He called on members of the church to corporate with the new leaders to move the aspiration and expectations of the church forward.
The conference used the opportunity to announce the 125-year anniversary celebration of the Sabbath message in Ghana.
The event which commenced from December 18 will end on Sunday with about 500-delegates participating.
The SGC has a total of 206 Churches, 301 companies and 108 branches Sabbath Schools with a membership of 72, 072 with 103 pastors, 42 staff and 101 literature evangelists.
