He told GNA Sports in Port Elizabeth after the game that “I can play in many positions and if the coach has decided to play me at left back, I have no problem with it.
“I play according to the coach’s instructions and tactics. Overall, I am very comfortable playing at left back. My only trouble today is that we did not win despite taking two goals lead.”
On the performance of the team, Asamoah insisted “we did not play very well. We lost the balls too many times. I can only do well by possessing more and pressing; which was lacking in our game.
“We were frustrated through out. The important thing now is to work harder in out next games to make amends because today was very disappointing.’
The player insists he is not pressured by the big player tag placed on him at the one to carry the Black Stars cause for a fifth Nations Cup glory that spans over three decades.
“When I here that tag, I feel nothing special. There is no pressure at all because I have been the same player that I know. All I just want to do is to work harder every day for myself and the team.’
The competition that ends in South Africa on February 10 is the player’s fourth appearance.
