IPR Ghana gets new Executives
The Institute of Public Relations, Ghana (IPRG) on Thursday inaugurated its Executive Council Members to steer affairs of the institute for the next two-year tenure.
Justice Patience Mills-Tetteh, Justice of the High Court of Ghana administered the Presidential Oath and Executive officers oath for the newly sworn-in council members.
The members include Major Albert Don-Chebe (Rtd), President IPRG, Mr Perry Ofosu, Vice President, Mr Henry Nii Dottey, Honorary Secretary, Ms Patience Mamle Asare, Treasurer, Mrs Vicky Wireku-Andoh, immediate past President, Mrs Elaine Kwame, Fund Raising Officer and Mr Alex Kwadwo Boateng, Consultant.
Others are Mr Nabanyin Pratt, Government and International Relations, Mr Emmanuel Allotey-Pappoe, Education and Accreditation, Dr Margaret Amoakohene, Professional Interest, Ms Esi Hammond, Member Services, and Mr Kenneth Awuku, Students Chapter.
The rest are Mr Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku, Research and New Media, Mr Ibrahim Mohammed, ACP Angwubutoge Awuni and Mr Donald Gwira, all members.
Major Don-Chebe (Rtd) on behalf of the Council members accepted the honour and described the ceremony as a vote of confidence and a show of support, and promised to take the Institute to higher heights.
He observed that the membership of the Institute had grown from less than 300 two years ago to 650 currently, and that its seminars and professional development programmes provided career development for practitioners across the country with the exception of Bolgatanga and Cape Coast.
Major Don-Chebe said the Institute had successfully celebrated its 40th Anniversary and contributed to the campaign to ensure peace in the run-up to the 2012 elections.
He said the Institute’s professional accreditation had progressed smoothly as more aspiring practitioners, especially those outside Accra, were applying to write the Accreditation exams.
