Pharmacy Council vows to flash out unlicensed drug sellers
The Pharmacy Council of Ghana has warned the public against people selling drugs in polythene bags as it could harm them.
It noted that some drug peddlers were not registered by any recognized body and did not have the right to sell drugs.
Mrs. Victoria Aryee, Public affairs officer of the Pharmacy Council, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said such drugs are not handled well and some are fake.
She explained that drugs sold in polythene bags are exposed to the hot climatic conditions thereby making them lose their chemical component and become harmful to those who use them
Mrs, Aryee advised consumers to desist from buying drugs that are exposed to danger and instead buy from registered pharmacies that have been licensed to provide “pharmacare” to the entire citizenry.
She assured that the Pharmacy Council would soon come out with a strategy to flash out the unlicensed drug sellers out of the system.
