African Youth Championship: Ghana flies to Italy, Spain for training tour
The Black Satellites are scheduled to fly out on Wednesday for a training tour of Italy and Spain ahead of the African U-20 Championship in Algeria next month.
According to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the 25-member squad will spend five days in Novara, Italy and a further ten days in Catalonia, Spain ahead of the eight-team continental championship, also the qualifier for the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup billed for Turkey.
The team have lined up test matches against the youth side of AC Milan and Barcelona during their 15-day training camp.
The squad includes only two foreign-based players, with four due to be dropped for the March 16-30 Championship.
The Satellites are housed in Group A alongside hosts Algeria, Benin and Egypt whilst holders Nigeria, Mali, DR Congo and Gabon make up Group B.
The semi-finalists will represent Africa at the global championship later in the year.
