Ghana’s opponents Benin names locally-dominated squad for African Youth Championship
Benin has named a predominant local-based squad for the 2013 Africa Youth Championship from March 16-30 in Algeria.
Head Coach, Ulrich Alohoutade after weeks of training opted for the locally-based players with clubs such as ASPAC, US Krake and Asos leading the pack of contributors.
Les Ecureuils Juniors are housed in Group A alongside hosts Algeria, Ghana and Egypt for the two-week tourney.
The Beninois play their first match against hosts Algeria on March 16, in Aïn Témouchent. Three days later, they will lock horns with Ghana’s Black Satellites also in Aïn Témouchent before facing Egypt in Oran in the final group fixture on March 22.
The semi-finalists will represent Africa at the FIFA U-20 World Cup later in the year in Turkey.
