Dede Ayew snubs GFA talks
Influential Black Stars midfielder, Andre Ayew has brushed aside the Ghana Football Association (GFA)’s effort to talk them out of their temporary retirement from the Black Stars, at least, for now.
Ayew called time on his illustrious career with the Black Stars late last month citing issues surrounding his relationship with the management team.
While the GFA rejected the player’s request, suggestions of a meet up to discuss the issues he raised in his letter, GNA Sports can confirm that the player is disinterested in meeting up the association.
In a page response to the GFA chanced upon by GNA Sports, Ayew said “I am most sincerely grateful to you for expressing your desire to address the issues that provoked my decision, some of which I most certainly believe, you are undoubtedly aware of for which reason I do not intend to catalogue them for discussion ( I really think disagreement) at a roundtable with the Association. Time definitely heals wounds”.
Ayew who was axed from the 23 -man squad that finished fourth following his inability to meet the reporting deadline in the team’s camping base in Abu Dhabi for a pre tournament said he was giving priority thoughts to the GFA’s request.
“I am giving priority thought to the issues raised in your letter in response to my letter communicating my decision to withdraw my services temporarily for the senior national team, Black Stars.”
The player who was expected to join the team for next weekend’s crucial World Cup qualifier against Sudan further said “in the meantime, I shall revert to you in due course on the issues on my availability for national team in due course.”
Ayew has played in three Nations Cup since making his debut on home soil in 2008 when Ghana hosted and placed third in a failed host and win bid.
The player who played an instrumental role in the Stars silver collection feat at the Angola 2010 even was also part of the team that placed an embarrassing fourth in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea two years on.

Why do we waste time in washing our dirty linen in public all the time as Soccer Adminstrators and player issues? If we can’t act as matured admintrators why are those people in office for the first place?To Ayew; you are so young to get involved in this kind of issues. Your Dad never learned, and could not humble himself as a Black Star Captain and never get World Cup presentation for mother Ghana. Please, do not follow that nonsense be humble and be oart of Ghana Soccer history and don’t let these administrators fustrate you. Thank you.
It is not that his Dad never learnt but his Dad was confronted with these same biased unproductive attitude towards his leadership from colleague players who thought they were better,just like he(Ayew) is from the Football administration.In the end Ghana is always the loser.I dont think Abedi’s detracters have reduced his relevance in the football world in any way
