Court confiscates businessman’s belongings
A Cape Coast high court has confiscated personal belongings of Mr Prah a businessman who paraded himself as the Odikro of Tweikrom in Ajumako Traditional Area under the stool name Nana Tweiku Ababio and was convicted in June, 2012 as result of refusing to pay a coast of GH¢2,500 awarded against him.
The items, which were removed from his house in Takoradi, were an Audi Salon car with registration No. WR 248 R, television set, furniture and other items based on application by Nana Afrasi Brempong VII substantive Odikro of the Tweikrom to the court.
The items have been sent to Cape Coast where they would be sold be auctioneer to pay the cost.
A Cape Coast high court in June 2012 sentenced Mr Prah in prison custody for styling himself as the odikro of the town.
The court fined him GH¢2, 500 to be paid after serving the sentence.
This followed a contempt case filed by Nana Afrasi Brempong VII, who is recognised by the Ajumako Traditional Council and the Central Regional House of Chiefs.
The Ajumako Traditional Council and the Central Regional House of Chiefs earlier ordered Mr Prah (Nana Tweiku Ababio) not to parade himself as the Odikro of the town.
Mr Justice James Benson told Mr Prah, that he should have known better, since in pursuance of relevant traditions and custom, Nana Afrasi Brempong VII in the accredited Odikro of Tweikrom.
