Eastern Region Local Government Staff threaten industrial action
The Eastern Regional Secretariat of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association (CLOGSAG) has threatened to embark on an industrial action if their leaders do not come out with the progress report on their premium.
This was contained in a statement issued in Koforidua on Thursday and signed by Ms Felicia Okai, Regional Secretary of the Association, and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA).
“The Regional Secretariat wishes to express concern on the apparent in-action on premium for members of CLOGSAG in the area”.
The statement said the nationwide industrial action by the CLOGSAG was called-off following the interventions of the Chairman of the Civil Service Council and the Chief of Staff of the Office of the President.
It said after waiting patiently for several months, they had not received any positive response adding that “we can no longer keep the rank and file calm with promise that the discussions are going on”.
The statement said the tension in the district was a matter of great concern to the secretariat and demanded that the national headquarters come out with something positive without delay.
