Accra’s World Trade Centre gets Managing Director

The World Trade Centre Accra has appointed Mr Emmanuel Doni-Kwame as its first Managing Director, effective April 2, 2013.

Prior to his appointment, Mr Doni-Kwame was the UNIDO SPX Executive Manager. He brings to WTC over 10 years’ experience as an International Trade and Investment Promotion Specialist, having previously worked with the Ghana Chamber of Commerce, Ernst & Young and the Ghana Standards Board.

A statement by Togbe Afede, Executive Chairman of the WTC, said Mr Doni-Kwame is a Governing Council member of the International Chamber of Commerce based in Paris and board member of Toprope (South Africa).

He was also a member of many bilateral Joint Commissions notably Ghana-Angola, Ghana-Turkey and Ghana-Iran Permanent Joint Commissions, and organised many international fairs and conferences.

Mr Doni-Kwame is a product of Mfantsipim School, KNUST, Aalborg University (Denmark), International Academy for Leadership Gummersbach (Germany) and University of Ghana.

WTC Accra is a member of the prestigious World Trade Centres Association (WTCA), a global network whose headquarters is in New York, and whose membership includes over 320 World Trade Centres operating in almost 100 countries.

WTC Accra’s mission is to integrate Ghanaian businesses into the worldwide alliance of World Trade Centres and provide these businesses with services and facilities that make the conduct of international trade and investment easier, faster and cheaper, in order to enhance Ghana’s economic growth and prosperity.

Mr Doni-Kwame is expected to put in place the necessary administrative and management structures in preparation for the formal launch of World Trade Centre Accra later in the year.
