Turkish businesses plan $1.5b investment in Ghana

BusinessesTurkey’s investment group, MUSIAD has hinted of plans to invest about $1.5 billion in the Ghanaian economy.

According to the group, the investment will be made in the areas of housing, energy and infrastructure.

MUSIAD made the announcement when Ghana’s Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah- Arthur met with its vice chairman responsible for foreign relations, Mutlu Bozkurt, on the sidelines of the 16th EURASIAN Economic Summit in Istanbul, Turkey.

A statement from the Ghana government says it expects a high powered delegation from the group to the country later this month to “firm up” the agreements.

In a remark, Vice President Amissah-Arthur thanked the Turkish investors for expressing the interest to invest in the country.

He underscored the need for private investors to focus their attention on the housing sector to reduce the shortfall in housing.

    Good news and these projects should be done with strings attached. again all safety rules are in place reagrding building code and construction laws as well.
