Adaklu District Assembly elects journalist as Presiding Member

Assembly members of Adaklu District Assembly on Thursday elected Mr Charles Agbesi, a reporter with the Enquirer Newspaper, as Presiding Member.

Mr Agbesi polled 14 votes, representing 77.78 per cent to beat Mr Francis Segbefia, a tutor at Jasikan College of Education, who polled three votes representing 16.67 per cent in the 18-member Assembly.

Officials of the Electoral Commission, who supervised the election, rejected one ballot.

Justice Richard Mac Kogyapwah, a Ho High Court Judge, swore Mr Agbesi into office and congratulated him on his election.

Mr Agbesi expressed gratitude to the Assembly members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work with all members as a team.
