Government investigates GYEEDA operations
Government has instituted investigations into allegations of suspected mismanagement of modules under the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA), Mr Mahama Ayariga, Minister for Information and Media Relations, has said in Accra.
The Minister, who was reacting to news report on module partners short-changing beneficiaries of the programme, said an investigative committee set up by the Minister for Youth and Sports was reviewing the entire process.
A statement signed by Mr Ayariga, and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday, asked media professionals with additional information on the matter to divulge them to the committee.
“It will be important for media houses that have additional information to assist the committee to help in the investigation and review process”, it said.
The statement said government in furtherance to its commitment to transparent and accountable governance would continue to appreciate and promote cooperation with the media and society, to be able to deal with issues on misapplication of public resources.
